Who are we?
The University of Bristol Law Clinic is a pro bono provider of legal services, staffed and coordinated by students of the University of Bristol. We are sponsored, trained and assisted by Burges Salmon LLP, a leading regional law firm. All of our services are provided free of cost. We provide a wide range of services, from simple assistance and advice to complete representation. We accept cases in the following practice areas:
Landlord / tenant disputes Housing / property disputes Contractual disputes Consumer claims Employment * Tax Insurance Wills **
The Law Clinic does not accept work relating to the following areas: Crime Personal injury Matrimonial / familial disputes Immigration

If you are unsure whether we are able to take your case please contact us * The Law Clinic will only accept simple Employment disputes and cannot assist with complex Employment matters. Part 26 Case Management 06 April 2009 For claims issued on or after 6 April 2009 the financial limit of the fast track procedure is increased from £15,000 to £25,000. ________ Powers of Attorney cost reduction takes effect 01 April 2009 The cost of registering Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) will be cheaper from today, reduced from £150 to £120. The change is in line with a wider review of the implementation of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 which began last October. ________ Legal aid reform programme 20 March 2009 Legal Aid Minister Lord Bach has given a speech on the legal aid reform programme at the Advice Services Alliance conference in which he has announced that more people will be eligible for civil legal aid.
